The Halftime Institute serves churches, non-profits, and faith-based business leaders. Chip DeClue, a coach for Halftime Institute, is encouraging his clients to not just survive, but to "sur-thrive." It's great advice!
There's considerable discussion these days about "surviving." My head's not in the sales sand. I see the value in hunkering and bunkering down. Survive the storm. Live to fight another sales day.
There's also a lot of aspirational announcements about "thriving" in the days ahead.
But it doesn't have to be survive, then thrive. It doesn't have to be either/or. It can be both/and. I believe, that it's time to sur-thrive!
I've been involved in two generational sales turnarounds. 9/11 and the 2008 housing crisis were two epic times of sales setbacks. In both sales situations, I encouraged our teams to "prepare meals while we're remodeling the kitchen." The tendency during tough times is to play sales "defense." It's important to stay on the offensive. Sur-thriving is about doing more with less.
As a sales leader, I realized that survival should not mean sitting back. Thriving did not have to wait until tomorrow. We could "sur-thrive." We might not win the overall sales war this week or month. But business battles could be successfully secured today. Prospecting inch by inch. Sales yard by yard. Rebuilding revenue daily would lead to rebounding. Rebounding would lead to revitalization. Revitalization would result in radical new revenue acceleration.
I believe our best day can be today if we make it our mantra to not just survive, but sur-thrive! Below is tool that can help prepare you to sur-thrive while working remotely from home. Enjoy!
